Introduction

Community Survey – A Positive Future for the Fishertown Seamans Hall

Green Hive are a community based organisation operating in Nairn.  'We are a thriving and sustainable community hub supporting local people to design solutions with a focus on environmental challenges and empowering then to deliver a wide range of activities, products and services. Green Hive values inclusion and collaboration and would welcome the input of residents, other community groups and organisations in the area.

As a key tool to achieve the objectives in our plan, Green Hive has an interest in transferring ownership of the Seaman's Hall from the current Trust to Green Hive for the benefit of the community.  Re-storing and re-purposing this building could be the catalyst to a stronger and better community.

This survey invites you as someone who lives, works or visits Nairn to share your views on the potential use of the Hall and the benefit to the community. The survey can be accessed on-line at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SeamansHall_Community_Survey and paper copies can be picked up and dropped off at the library, community centre and Green Hive workshop (Unit 9A2, Tom Semple Road, Balmakeith Industrial Estate, Nairn, IV12 5QW)

Green Hive commissioned Oberlanders Architects and Community Enterprise to undertake more detailed community and technical research.  This survey will help us get to a detailed plan for the building.  Please take the time to complete this important survey and make sure that your voice is heard.

If you want to contribute and see some early drawings, we are also holding a drop in event at the Seaman's Hall on Saturday 5th February from 10am till 3pm.

Community Enterprise, will be helping us to develop the idea. If you would like any further information, please contact Douglas by emailing douglas@communityenterprise.co.uk or phone 07898 306374.

All information gathered will be confidential. All survey responses (including those collected on paper) are recorded on Survey Monkey whose privacy policy can be viewed here. Community Enterprise's privacy policy can be viewed here.
