Welcome to the Survey

Scenario-Based Learning (SBL) is now widely recognised in both academia and business as an effective method of learning in the context of a real life situation/challenge/problem. Technologies such as Virtual Scenarios (VS) and Virtual Patients (VP) have emerged which are designed to directly support SBL activities.

The WAVES (Widening Access to Virtual Educational Scenarios) project, co-funded by the European Commission as part of the Erasmus+ programme, aims to maximise the potential of VS/VP tools by
  • Understanding how the wider community currently uses SBL, and how it might wish to do so in future.
  • Identifying ways in which existing SBL tools can be improved to better meet the needs of users.
  • Exploring whether learner experiences found in resources such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) can improve engagement through the introduction of SBL.
  • Widening access to SBL through the development of materials and technical solutions that better match the needs of the community.
