One of the more significant changes in the festival landscape over the last few years has been the rise of metropolitan festivals, and this award is bestowed upon the festival that most convincingly made a city its own.
This award acknowledges the independent festivals whose organisers sacrifice their time, energy and finances in order to host an event that’s true to their ideals and free of commercial interests.
Although the UK festival scene is one of the most renowned in the world, we can’t ignore the endless amazing events abroad. This award attempts to determine which one most deserves distinction.
