Devon Communities Together are an independent charity, with expertise in community engagement. We will report to Totnes Town Council on the survey findings.
No individual names or identifying features are collected in the course of this survey.
Please only complete the survey once.
The background: Totnes Town Council were asked by Devon County Council to indicate how the town centre could be made safer during the COVID-19 pandemic. After much discussion the recommendation was for a temporary 4 hours a week closure of the road on Saturday mornings 9am - 1pm. Devon County Council as the Highway authority have made the decision to temporarily close Upper Fore Street, High Street and the Narrows on this weekly basis until 5th December 2020 (currently). This measure is to allow more room for pedestrians to move around the town and between shops without having to avoid vehicles and crowds on narrow pavements.
Totnes Town Council would like to understand the effectiveness of this measure and consult on whether this should be extended, and so have asked Devon Communities Together to carry out this independent survey.
