What should the Council do?

In March 2019 Tower Hamlets Council declared a Climate Emergency, we want to ask you what you think the Council should be doing to take action in response to that announcement. We intend to present a motion to the next Council meeting on the 17th July and want to ask you what you think we should include in it,

Install green walls alongside main roads to absorb noise & air pollution

Make it easier to recycle food waste
Street bins with separate recycling receptacles (like in Westminster, Canary Wharf estate)
Solar powered waste compacting street bins that tell Council when full
Segregated cycle lanes on main routes
Introduce cycle parking outside shops, restaurants, schools, Council buildings
100% LED lighting in schools, Council buildings & streetlights
Loans for residents to insulate their homes to reduce energy
Ban building schools next to main roads
Electric vehicle charging points on every street with resident parking
Encourage TfL for buses to go all electric
Consolidation of deliveries in central hubs to then cargo bikes for last mile delivery
Allow electric scooters on roads & cycle lanes
Enforcement against idling cars
