Volunteering Roles

Here at the Science Museum we are dedicated to 'Inspiring the Futures' of our younger visitors.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the Moon, the Science Museum is holding a 'Summer of Space' Season of Events.

We want applications from STEM professions, people studying STEM subjects and people with a passion for all things Space. We’d like our visitors to hear from a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds, opinions and ideas about Space and the future of humanity beyond Earth.

Applications close soon.

Roles Available

Activity Leader
Do you have a great idea for a Space-themed activity which would be fun and engaging for families?

We are looking for volunteers to lead their own space-themed activities. This is a rare opportunity to design and run your own event with families here at the Science Museum. Ideally you'll have some experience engaging with the public - and of course have a great idea!

Science on a Sphere Facilitator
Are you fascinated about the future of humanity in Space? Does the Moon fill you with wonder? Do you aspire to live on Mars?

We are looking for volunteers to use our interactive exhibit 'Science on a Sphere' to engage visitors with human Space travel.

Science on a Sphere is a 2 meter diameter sphere in our Exploring Space Gallery. The Sphere uses video projections to explain complex environmental processes in a way that is fun and accessible for all!
