The aim of this project is to purchase the former Trades Lane Health Centre in Coupar Angus and to turn it into a vibrant community facility for the people of Strathmore (defined as those living in the PH10 and PH13 postcode areas).
The Strathmore Community Hub Group was created by a group of local people in response to NHS Tayside placing the Trades Lane building on the open market. The vision is to secure the building into community ownership and then run the facility as a flexible building to house a number of local groups and activities including the Men’s Shed. The vision is to create a vibrant community hub that serves the needs of people of all ages and abilities.
Some early informal consultation work has been done that shows there is potential in the idea. To succeed, there has to be good community involvement and the Group is keen to have local people involved in the development of the building and services. Any proposal to purchase and renovate the facility has to be viable, fundable, additional (rather than duplicating) and create social impact in the Strathmore area and beyond.
Consultation and research is being carried out by Community Enterprise on behalf of the Group to capture views and evidence of how local people want to see the building used for the benefit of the community. We would appreciate if you could complete this questionnaire - all information is gathered in the strictest confidence.
If you have any questions please contact Pamela Redpath on 07989 923 260 or at pamela@communityenterprise.co.uk. Please return any paper copies to the place where you picked it up.

Thank you.
