This survey focuses on all froghopper (spittlebug) species that feed on plant xylem fluid. The results will be used to map the distribution of these insects and the plants they feed on. The survey is part of the BRIGIT project. By completing this survey you are giving permission for us to store and use your data for this purpose for the duration of the BRIGIT project.
Please note that spittlebugs do not cause significant damage to plants and are completely harmless to humans. There is therefore no need to remove the bugs or to treat the plant. The spittle will disappear by about the end of June when spittlebug nymphs moult into adult insects. More information can be found on the survey website.
