Herefordshire Mapping of Social Enterprises
Why are we undertaking this survey?
Social enterprises are defined as "businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners".
Herefordshire Council is undertaking this mapping of social enterprises located within the county to gain a better understanding of the scale and diversity of the sector. It also hopes to gain insight into the needs and challenges of the sector in order to better understand how it may best support social enterprises to develop, thrive and grow.
We hope that the information gathered through this mapping will strengthen the position of social enterprises across the county and will build a dynamic and resilient network of socially focused business.
As well as mapping existing social enterprises we are also interested in organisations that are not yet social enterprises, but aspire to be.
The survey should take you approximately 20 minutes to complete. Please feel free to pass the link to this survey on to other social enterprise organisations you may know.
The deadline for this survey is Friday 28th February.
All social enterprises that fully complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £200 of PC World vouchers, the winner will be randomly selected. If you wish to be entered into this draw please enter contact details at question 1.
How will the researchers ensure my personal information is confidential?
Any information you provide will be held and used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. The information you provide will not be shared with any third parties other than Impact Consultancy & Research, the external consultants undertaking this piece of research. Your information will be used for one or more of the following:
· Conducting a follow up telephone survey · Inviting you to a focus group · Inviting you to join a social enterprise network · Entering you into a prize draw · To add your organisation’s details to a Herefordshire Council social enterprise database to be informed of future social enterprise events, activities and information which may benefit you · Including details of your organisation in a Social Enterprise directory for Herefordshire
