Terms of application

Please read this carefully before applying
  1. Applicants may apply for a maximum of £2000. However, limited flexibility is available for exceptional applications. Applicants should request no more than £500 per day for their meetings.
  2. Each member can receive one grant per calendar year.
  3. Support requested should be “enabling” (i.e. the meeting could not go ahead without it) or should scientifically enhance the activity.
  4. Applicants must be a member (at any level) of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Division that represents their application’s subject area. Please note, if applying for RSC membership, the higher levels have additional eligibility requirements that may extend the application process.
  5. If you are not a member of the appropriate Division, your Royal Society of Chemistry Membership will be updated to make you a member of the relevant Division. Joining Divisions is free. If you have any questions, please contact us.
  6. The meeting should fit in with the Division’s priorities and strategy. Details are available on the Division webpages.
  7. The support should be acknowledged. We request that information relating to the Division’s activities is made available at the event (for example on one or two PowerPoint slides).
  8. We will require you to complete a feedback form on the successes of the meeting, including a summary of the costs. This will be sent to you following your meeting and should be submitted within 4 weeks of the meeting.
  9. Applications should be for meetings related to scientific research and should not be predominantly commercial in nature.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact funding@rsc.org.
