Recycling Reward Pilot Scheme |
Introduction
In April 2016 we introduced a Recycling Reward Pilot Scheme in your area. Since then we have seen an increase in the amount of items recycled across the borough and a reduction in contamination (people putting fewer wrong things in their blue bin and black caddy). This has generated additional income from the sale of recyclable materials and also helped us reduce costs of waste going to landfill. This is hugely important at a time when we are required to make savings and generate income due to government funding cuts.
We would like to find out about your views and experiences about the scheme because we may decide to extend the recycling and reward pilot scheme in your neighbourhood, or roll out this approach to other neighbourhoods across the borough.
