* 1. Stepping into the role of CEO has given me the opportunity to influence the three areas that I feel are important to the future of the RCM - leadership, partnership and safety.

If you could walk a day in my shoes what three things would you focus on and why?

* 2. I want us all to focus on safety in maternity services. This includes helping midwives and MSWs feel confident to practice in a safe way.

How can we help you strengthen your professional networks so you feel safe and confident in your practice?

* 3. One of my priorities for the next five years is to strengthen relationships and break down the barriers between midwives, obstetricians and other professionals.

How do you think professional relationships could be improved locally?

* 4. A key role of the Royal College of Midwives is to give midwives and MSWs a voice, nationally and locally.

What do you think we could all do together to improve the voice of maternity care?

* 5. During my 30 year career of being a midwife, I’ve met lots of passionate and resilient midwives and MSWs.

What can our RCM do to keep your passion for maternity services alive?
