Introduction

Atkins, Jacobs and White Willow have been awarded a new project from DfT for a Connected Vehicle Data Strategy.  This will:
  • Quantify benefits from wider use of connected vehicle data for planning, smarter asset management, parking and traffic management
  • Identify the blockers which are currently holding back deployment at scale
  • Identify what needs to happen for the blockers to be removed and what actions DfT and others need to take and what investment this will require
The project focuses on near term benefits and actions, and on the data itself rather than the technology of communications. To help frame the questions, a “connected vehicle” is defined as anything that moves that can communicate with other vehicles or infrastructure. It could be a bike, horse or truck and any age of car.

So we have some open questions we are asking stakeholders. Please reply to the following questions.
