Your son/daughter is a member of the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN), and this is a really significant achievement. The YAAN is a national programme through the National Apprenticeship Service, part of the Department for Education that was launched by the Skills Minister, Anne Milton, in November 2017. The network has a very high profile in government and your son/daughter is amongst the first in the country to be accepted onto the scheme.

Through the YAAN, your son/daughter will be using their personal apprenticeship story to help to inspire other young people across England to consider how an apprenticeship could also be right for them.

One of the areas that we are trying to improve is how parents are engaged in the conversation about apprenticeships. We know this is a very important part of the apprenticeship policy and a great deal needs to be developed to support parents more effectively.

We would really value you taking some time to complete this short survey to help to give us an insight into what it was like for you when your son/daughter decided that they wanted to pursue the apprenticeship pathway and your views on what needs to change to help more parents to feel supported and informed in the future.

All responses will be anonymous and confidential. We will use them to help us to plan our support programme for 2018/19.

Thank you.

The idea is that we would consult with you through surveys, the occasional telephone call/webinar to get your feedback on different elements of the campaign that we develop.
Would you be interested in joining our Parents Advisory Group?

Question Title

* 15. We are also looking for parents to potentially feature in some short video clips about apprenticeships that would be shared on social media. This would be parent to parent messaging, with the aim of reassuring other parents that apprenticeships are a good idea and sharing your words of wisdom about how they can best support their child. Would you be interested in getting involved in this opportunity?

Question Title

* 16. Thank you very much for taking the time to complete this survey. Do you have any other comments?
