The Disabled Members’ Council and Disabled Members’ NEC rep are pleased to invite you to give your views and feedback on your experiences of work and training. This short survey is aimed at NUJ members who are disabled or have a long term impairment or health condition.

Disabled people have rights at work under the Equality Act 2010, including those with conditions such as cancer or HIV. We support the social model of disability and seek to address the barriers in society and the workplace that obstruct access and inclusion for disabled people.

We will use the survey responses to gain a better understanding of the issues affecting disabled members at work and how the NUJ can better support you in your professional career.

We also aim to improve efforts to ensure the Union and our activities are inclusive and accessible. At the end of the survey is an open question for additional views you’d like to share with us.

Your response will be treated in complete confidence. We are asking that you share your name, to facilitate the union following up with you in confidence. If you feel uncomfortable sharing your name, you can fill in the survey anonymously.  All data is processed in accordance with the Union’s privacy policy https://www.nuj.org.uk/privacy/

If you would like more information, or a more accessible version of the survey please get in touch with equality@nuj.org.uk
