The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) invites local councillors, local councils and county associations to complete the following survey for the May 2022 local council elections.

In England, more than 10,000 local (parish and town) councils play a crucial role in public service delivery. Like any local authority, they elect councillors who volunteer a collective 14 million hours per annum, to represent their community and develop policies that improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.

The aim of this survey is to collect data on the promotion, planning and resources that go into holding elections at the local level. Furthermore, NALC intends to use this data to highlight ways in which it can support the local council sector and improve the election process.

NALC's 'Make A Change' Campaign

In 2021, NALC launched the 'Make A Change' campaign to continue its longstanding work to promote local council elections and encourage undiscovered community heroes to run for election.

The final section of this survey is intended to collect feedback on NALC's 'Make A Change' resources, to highlight what has been useful and what could be improved for the 2023 election cycle.

The questionnaire should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Please complete this survey by 23:45 on 24 June 2022.
