Interested in a career in Early Learning and Childcare? Change career, change lives.

To help you decide if a career in early learning and childcare is for you, why not come along to one of our free information events. Due to the Scottish Government's expansion of Early Years, the City of Edinburgh Council has 60 early learning MA/Trainee positions and 30 Early Years Assistant posts, all starting this August. The positions will be advertised on MyJobScotland from April 23rd and we welcome applications from under-represented groups. For those staying on in school, we have 80 Foundation Apprenticeships for 5th and 6th years which will be delivered in WHEC, Drummond, Castlebrae and Liberton High Schools, these are available to pupils in all Edinburgh and Lothians high schools.

You are invited to attend our free Early Years and Childcare Careers information event on either the morning or afternoon of Friday 29 March, at the Scottish Story Telling Centre, on the Royal Mile. Come along and find out how you can change career, make a difference and earn over £15,285, (sessional/pro-rata) while you learn. You will hear from men and women who have made the leap to a successful and fulfilling career in early years and childcare. You will also hear leading lights of the Scottish Early Years sector share their stories and passion for this important and growing area. You can chat with staff from the Council's Early Learning and Childcare Academy and get advice from various college and private training providers.
