Introduction

The Greater London Authority is working with the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA), Business in the Community (BITC) and Robert Bray Associates to develop concise and engaging guidance to support the better management of rainwater for buildings and surrounding estates for a number of different sectors through the use of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

SuDS deliver a number of benefits, making our buildings and places more pleasant to live, work and play. They can also help manage the risks of climate change, reduce our impact on the local environment and provide a number of additional benefits for everyone.

Sustainable drainage includes a wide range of components, from rain gardens, swales and wetlands to permeable pavements. The guidance will showcase what can be achieved in many sectors, highlight the benefits of SuDS and provide some useful advice on their inclusion around buildings and on estates.

So we can develop the guidance that industry needs we would welcome your input in a short survey. We’re hoping you can share your experiences and provide an opportunity to showcase any good practice you may have by letting us know if you have images and case studies for inclusion in the guidance.

The survey shouldn’t take too long (around 10 minutes), please answer as many questions as you can. Please feel free to share with colleagues, particularly those that have been able to deliver SuDS.

Many thanks
