The Gary Francis young achiever awards

Hackney CVS established the Gary Francis award in recognition of local young people who achieve against the odds. The awards are held in memory of our colleague, who sadly died from cancer in 2012.

Gary worked at Hackney CVS as the Youth Programmes Manager. In his 6 years with the organisation, Gary secured nearly £2m for projects working with young people.

Gary was a key figure in the local community and his knowledge and expertise helped to shape the Borough’s approach to tackling youth crime by ensuring a focus on giving young people opportunities to achieve their best.

Local voluntary and community organisations and youth groups are invited to nominate a young person for an award. Young people who are successfully nominated will recive a recognition certificate and an award of between £50 to £250. The awards will be presented at our summer event on 18 July.

Deadline for nominations: 5pm, Thursday 6 July.
