Shaping Future Drug and Alcohol Services

Overview

Wolverhampton City Council would like your views on Drug and Alcohol treatment and recovery services. Current contracts to provide drug and alcohol services are due to end in March 2018.

We are responsible for making sure that there are effective services available and would really value your thoughts on what works well and where we could make things better. You do not need to have used drug and alcohol services to do this.

What are drug and alcohol services?

Drug and alcohol services provide a range of specialist interventions and support services for individuals and families who are affected by the misuse of drugs and/or alcohol.

Services are free and available to everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin and sexual orientation. Substance misuse (relating to drugs or alcohol) can have negative consequences to the individual, their friends, family and the wider community and can lead to ill-health, anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.

In Wolverhampton current drug and alcohol services include:

  • Recovery Near You (RNY)/Thornhurst – Adults
  • 360 Service– Young People/Families
  • Shared Care delivered by GP’s and RNY
