The Children & Social Work Bill will be debated by MPs later this autumn. In order to inform that debate BASW needs to hear your views. Please take a few minutes to answer this short survey. If you have any questions on this or issues relating to the Children & Social Work Bill please contact Senior Parliamentary and Political Affairs Officer Madeleine Jennings: m.jennings@basw.co.uk

All social workers in England are currently regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). The Children and Social Work Bill proposes taking this role away from the HCPC and giving it to the Secretary of State. This would make the Government directly responsible for the regulation, registration and accreditation of all social workers and for setting standards.

Question Title

* 1. Please say whether you agree/disagree that “the regulation of social work should remain independent from Government?”
