Purpose of this Consultation

The Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan (LDP) identifies a number of sites for future housing development, including site H1 at Carr-Bridge. Site H1 is allocated for up to 72 houses.

However, two planning applications for housing development on the site were refused by the Cairngorms National Park Authority. It is acknowledged that these planning applications generated a significant amount of local objection. This leaves a level of uncertainty over the future development of this site.

As a result, we have produced a draft Development Brief for the H1 site to provide more clarity on the key issues that any future development proposals should address. The contents of the Brief have been informed by a questionnaire that was circulated in the community earlier this year. The Brief aims to give more certainty to both local residents and the site developers, and this consultation allows you to have your say on its contents.

It is important to be clear that this is not an opportunity to reconsider whether the H1 site is appropriate for development in principle. However, it is an important opportunity for you to influence how the site could be taken forward in a way that benefits Carr-Bridge.

This form shouldn't take too long to fill in but you can always save your progress and return to it at another time. If you would rather submit a hand-written form you can download an editable PDF version here. Then email it to planning@cairngorms.co.uk or by post to FREEPOST, NAT21454, Grantown-on-Spey, PH26 3BR.

All responses must be returned by 5pm on Friday 3 February 2017.
