As a part of ‘making safeguarding personal in care homes’, we are looking to speak to professionals that have had an experience of sharing safeguarding concerns, but we are also keen to hear from people who have never shared an experience.

Safeguarding means protecting people's health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
There are a variety of professionals that will visit care homes as a part of their work such as mobile hairdressers, entertainers, plumbers or builders, for example.

We want to gain an understanding about whether such professionals are aware of their role in sharing concerns in order to protect individuals and if they would know how to go about it.
Our aim is to help inform professionals about their responsibility in safeguarding in care homes and ensure they have the information should they ever need to raise a concern in the future.
All responses will be anonymous. To protect your anonymity, your individual views will be combined with those of other respondents from this survey and analysed at a combined level. All information given will be held by Healthwatch Lancashire and remain secure and confidential and will be used in line with the regulations of the GDPR (data protection legislation). Findings will be shared with Lancashire County Council and relevant stakeholders. We will not pass details on to third parties, and it will not be used for marketing purposes.
