We need your help make Bridgeway act reasonably!

For more details, see our newsletter here https://mailchi.mp/tssa/bridgeway-referendum

All CEFA staff are due a cost of living pay rise from 1 March this year, when RPI was at 7.8% and rising.

Bridgeway continue to refuse to accept that the recognition agreement with your union transferred from Amey under TUPE regulations and refuse to discuss pay with your reps.

While Amey and Xeiad management are sitting down to negotiate with members on pay and conditions, your employer has chosen to leave you with no choice but to seriously consider moving towards industrial action as the only means left to persuade the company to act decently.

Please vote "YES" to a ballot for industrial action consisting of a strike and  "YES" to a ballot consisting of action short of a strike.*

This will ensure that all options are on the table to ensure that the company see sense and recognise your collective right to negotiate a deal to protect your pay and conditions now and in future.

*This is a referendum ballot only and does not constitute a ballot for industrial action

Question Title

* 1. Are you in favour of a ballot for industrial action consisting of a strike?

Question Title

* 2. Are you in favour of a ballot for industrial action consisting of action short of a strike?

Question Title

* 3. To help your negotiators to represent members effectively with more insight into members' views, please provide details to explain why you have voted this way.

Question Title

* 4. If Bridgeway continue to refuse to negotiate, you may have no choice but to take action to force the company to reconsider and engage in talks. You are an expert in which actions you and your colleagues could take that would have the greatest impact on your employer so that they have no choice but to negotiate an end to our dispute and a satisfactory outcome.

Please share any suggestions around effective action which you and your colleagues are likely to support here (for example, stopping midweek day shifts, midweek nights, weekends, or specific planned activities).

Question Title

* 5. Companies that value collective engagement with elected reps benefit from improved workforce safety, dignity at work and fair terms and conditions.

Companies that are hostile to workers' rights are typically more likely to be negligent on safety, more tolerant of bullying and fail to ensure that workers with protected characteristics are valued, supported and included and protected from discrimination.

If you have concerns about dignity at work or health, safety and welfare at Bridgeway, please share details here in confidence. You can contact the members' Helpdesk or your TSSA Rep for support. Don't forget that the Worksafe Procedure exists across the railway, so if something isn't safe, don't do it.

Remember that rail workers can also contact CIRAS in confidence to raise safety concerns. See https://www.ciras.org.uk/en for information.
