Biogas: the Roadmap to 2030 - World Biogas Association

1. Introduction

The World Biogas Association (WBA) is the global trade association for the biogas and anaerobic digestion (AD) sectors, dedicated to facilitating the adoption of biogas globally.

As reported in last year’s “Global potential of biogas” report, the biogas sector can reduce annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 12% - the question is now, how do we grow the industry to reach this level worldwide?

Developed by members of the WBA’s Policy, Innovation, and Technology Committee (PITC), this survey aims:

1) to gather market and policy insight from all countries
2) to better understand the barriers currently inhibiting industry growth
3) to identify the best ways, both policy and technical, to overcome these barriers

Findings will be reported and discussed in the upcoming WBA report “Biogas: the Roadmap to 2030”.

Note, for the purposes of this survey, biogas refers to the gas produced via the breakdown of organic material through anaerobic digestion (including landfill).

All survey data will be aggregated and anonymised.
