Biocuration involves the translation and integration of information relevant to biology into a database or resource that enables integration of the scientific literature as well as large data sets. Biocurators provide essential resources to the biological community such that databases have become an integral part of the tools researchers use on a daily basis for their work.

However, there is currently no recognised qualification in biocuration, either to provide new curators with a route for gaining the requisite skills to work within this field, or as a way for curators working in the field to gain recognition for the varied skill-sets that such a career provides them with.

This survey will help us learn more about the training needs of biocurators. The results will be used to shape training programme(s) tailored to these needs so that we can contribute towards the career development of this critically needed and growing community.

The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time to complete. We would appreciate it if you could spare the time to respond fully to all questions.

We greatly value your contribution and look forward to sharing the outcomes with you.
