The Self-build and Custom Housebuilding (Register) Regulations 2016 requires the Council to keep a register of individuals and associations of individuals who are seeking to acquire serviced plots of land in the borough in order to build homes for those individuals to occupy as their sole or main residence.
The Register will provide information on the demand for self-build and custom housebuilding in the borough, which the Council must have regard to when preparing local planning policy, determining planning applications, and exercising its housing, regeneration and land disposal functions. The Register itself will not be published; however, headline data will be published occasionally as required and anonymised information will be included in the annual Authority Monitoring Report.
