Welcome to the Batley Variations questionnaire survey quiz thingy.

509 Arts has been making events across Yorkshire for many years. Last year we scooped the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society award for Calderland, a folk opera made with 300 people and presented in the stunning Piece Hall, Halifax.

This year we are working with the Batley Business Association and Creative Scene to make the Batley Variations - a brand new operatic song cycle about Batley and the people who live, work and play in it.

For the next few months we will be writing, composing, recruiting, researching and rehearsing and In November 2018 local people will present the Batley Variations in a transformed St Mary's Social Club near the centre of town. Songs will be sung, dances will be danced, performers will perform, musicians will play and wonderful stories of Batley will be told in a unique environment specially created for the occasion.

The songs will be specially written and composed, and to bring them all to life we need your thoughts, stories ideas and special moments. We have been meeting, greeting and interviewing around the town, but we just can't get enough! Complete this survey and tell us all you know!

We can't wait to hear your special take on the special town that is Batley.

And of course if you want to get involved - as a performer, backstage or in any other way - do contact us on info@509arts.co.uk or text 07973 483055 for more information.

Many many thanks! We look forward to meeting you as part of the Batley Variations.

All the best,

Alan, Jenny, Mike, Em,
Richard, Shanaz, Naomi,
Rebecca and the team.
