Proposals to change the Academy Day
We are considering changes to the Academy Day from September 2016 which will result in a full teaching week of 25 one hour lessons and a slightly earlier finish to the day at 3.00pm. The proposed changes also mean that there will no longer be an early finish on Fridays.
This proposal has been discussed by the Governing Body and we now seek your views.
Reasons for the proposed changes
· To improve students’ results
· To provide added curriculum time
· To provide continuity of learning for students
Advantages of changing Academy Day
· Consistency of lesson times throughout the week
· Increase to 25 lessons per week
· Students will be in lessons on Friday afternoon
The Academy’s Proposal for the Day : 25 lessons of 60 minutes each
Current teaching provision is 24 lessons of 65 minutes totalling 26 hours.
The proposed model is 25 lessons of 60 minutes totalling 25 hours.
