Introduction

After years of bitter wrangling, prime minister Boris Johnson struck a post-Brexit trade agreement with the European Union on Christmas Eve – hailing the deal as a festive present to the nation.

Agreed at the eleventh hour, just days before the end of the UK’s year-long transition out of the EU, the deal has been welcomed by businesses for securing zero-tariff trade.

Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the British Retail Consortium (BRC), said the agreement meant households around the UK could breathe a sigh of relief and that shoppers on both sides of the Channel would be protected from billions of pounds of import tariffs on everyday goods.

Drapers wants to find out what the deal means for you and your business. Does the Brexit deal herald bright new opportunities for the British fashion industry? Will fashion be better off with Britain outside the EU? Or will border delays and disruption to supply chains offset any gains, and hit fashion retailers when the industry can least afford it?

Our survey is open to fashion retailers, brands and manufacturers.

All answers will be treated anonymously, and our findings will be published in an upcoming issue of Drapers.
