Newburgh Community Trust - East Shore Park

East Shore Park has played an important part in the recreational life of our community for more than a century.  The home of Newburgh Junior Football Club is also used by the local primary school, the cubs and the local racing pigeon club, and could, we believe, offer much more to our community.

The opportunity to secure this area for community use has arisen using the Community Asset Transfer process. This allows community groups to take over ownership of land or buildings from a public body to enable them to deliver services to the community.  This acquisition must be of benefit to local residents.

Newburgh Community Trust was set up 13 years ago to provide a vehicle through which local people could influence the future of the town.  It now owns the piers along the waterfront and the former reservoir, Lochmill, managing them on behalf of the local community.  The Trust is now looking to secure community backing to allow the community to purchase East Shore Park from Fife Council and so secure it for the people of Newburgh as a recreational and sporting area in community ownership and would like to know what you think.
