Music Matters

How central to your life is music?
This year at Swn we built a Music Museum in Cardiff city centre. You can still contribute to our virtual museum by nominating objects that define your musical DNA.
Nominate three physical items for our on-line display, alongside a few lines of text that explain why these things represent your journey into sound.

We aim to demonstrate how much music matters to people, how our lives are soundtracked by songs and celebrate the sensory joy of getting down.
So share your stories and let's get lost in music.

Question Title

* 1. Thanks for your interest in the Music Museum.  This form will collect information about the items you would like to virtually deposit and why.

If you do not have all info to hand, do submit more than once. We can stitch info back together!

Ready now? Let's get started. Who are you and how can we get in touch? We may build another physical museum and get in contact about displaying your things.

All information is only used for the music museum and will be kept private.

Question Title

* 2. Tell us about your musical identify - briefly describe your involvement with music and name any links e.g. Musician (which band),  DJ (where), Festival organiser (which festival), fan (any particular genres). We would present this info with your objects.

Question Title

* 3. Now we are ready for you to nominate 3 items for the Music Museum. List them below so we know what they are and provide a date and a place if relevant e.g. Clash White Riot tour poster, 1977, Eric's, Liverpool or Bruce Springsteen plectrum, 2010, Cardiff.

Question Title

* 4. Please provide a brief description of item 1 (items 2 and 3 are the next two questions).
For measurements just provide the maximum and no need for milimetre accuracy.

Question Title

* 5. Please describe item 2 in the same way

Question Title

* 6. And now item 3

Question Title

* 7. Also can you share with us at least one clear image of each item?

Either tweet all three images with a brief description, see below, with the #swnmm, or post to Swn Music Museum Facebook page or email to swnmusicmuseum@gmail.com with your name in the title.  Do let us know any issues with this in the box below.

Question Title

* 8. Thanks, now can you tell the tale of why you chose these items. You can expand on your tweet or Facebook post or if you send the images direct we will merge with the text.

So how do these items define your relationship with music?

You have up to about 125 words or 800 characters (we need to fit them on a label). Exceed this and you will asked to try again. We suggest you compose elsewhere and cut and paste as text entry is a little clumsy.

Question Title

* 9. Is there anything we have forgotten? Do leave comments, concerns or queries on the museum, the items or the process.
