School Barrier System

* 1. We are proposing to have barriers/bollards installed and a coded lock on the small side gate in order to safeguard our children. The reasons for this proposal are as follows:

- We have had 3 near misses with pupils narrowly avoiding being hit by moving vehicles within the last 12 months that have been reported.

- An increasing number of parent/carer and children are using the car park as a shortcut into school rather than the main entrance gates which is dangerous due to moving vehicles.

- An increased awareness of lock down procedures has identified the car park as a blind spot and therefore in need of attention to keep everyone safe.

- To ensure the site is secure for all children and staff throughout the day.

- 4 cars have been damaged whilst in the car park by people using the car park as a drop off zone.
