We are searching for 12 people who have made a difference in their community over the last year...

The Zoological Society of East Anglia has announced it is searching for 12 Community Champions and is urging people to nominate family, friends, neighbours and local heroes who have made a real difference this year in their local community.

The charity, which runs Banham Zoo and Africa Alive, will be rewarding each of the 12 winners with an annual zoo pass and six tickets for their friends or family. The passes and the tickets can be used at either zoo.

See below for the rules:

• It is free to nominate a Community Champion.
• The nomination is for individuals only. No nominations for groups or business please.
• The person being nominated must have carried out their activity in East Anglia (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk or Cambridgeshire).
• There is no age restriction on the person you are nominating.
• Any entries received after 5pm on Monday 30th November will not be considered.
• Nominations will be chosen by ZSEA’s Education and Community Team - their decision is final.
• Staff of Banham Zoo, Africa Alive or ZSEA will not be eligible for an award but a volunteer of Banham Zoo, Africa Alive or ZSEA is eligible for an award.
• The prize is not transferable for money.
• All winners will be contacted between Tuesday 1st December and Friday 4th December. If you are not contacted before Saturday 5th then you have not been selected.
• All winners will be asked to sign a consent form to have their story told and photo used for media purposes.
