About This Survey

Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham are an independent champion for people using local health and social care services. We listen to people’s positive experience of services and act as a scrutiny to services in areas which could be improved. We share local people’s views with those with the power to make change happen.

Increased physical activity is a key area for the Health and Wellbeing of young people.

Regular activity brings physical and mental health benefits; can reduce stress and anxiety as well as support developing new skills that can increase confidence and self-esteem.

You could have a preference for the way you take part in it - active travel, walking, cycling and using the outdoors, with all the numerous physical, social and mental health benefits it brings.

Over the last year though, during the COVID 19 pandemic, physical activity and exercise has declined, contributing to inactive lifestyles in young people. This increases the risks of health related issues. Most options haven’t been at hand due to the shutting down of places and indoor spaces where young people would exercise.

We want to learn about what exercise is to you, what options you look for, what might be stopping you.

Going through this should take about 15 minutes to complete depending on how much you tell us about your view and experiences.

Anything you tell us is treated with respect and from your answers, no one will know it was you.
