Bats & Communities Conference

This conference is aimed at people who can make a difference in championing bats in their communities. The conference is being held on Saturday 9th June in Chudleigh. There will be a series of inspiring talks from both professionals and local champions. By the end of the day we hope to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to make your village or town bat friendly through activities such as the promotion of bat friendly gardening, spreading the word through events, leading bat walks, undertaking bat surveys or bringing bat friendly thinking into neighbourhood plans.
If requests to attend the conference exceed our maximum then we will allocate places to ensure that different communities are represented.  To register your interest in attending please complete the following questions. You will be informed if you have been allocated a place on the conference by 9th May.

* 1. Tell us if you live in/near one of the following bat project areas

* 2. What are your reasons for attending (tick all that apply)?

* 3. Lunch will be a buffet (vegetarian food), do you have any dietary requirements?

* 4. As well as the main conference (10am-4pm), we may run some late evening bat walks (10pm). Is this something you would be interested in attending (there are various pubs in Chudleigh for an evening meal beforehand)?

* 5. We ask for a minimum £5 donation on the day to help us run the day and provide lunch, however if you feel unable to afford this, we don’t want this to be a barrier to your attendance. Are you willing to contribute a minimum £5 donation?

* 6. Please give us your details. We will only use your details for the purposes of running the conference unless you agree otherwise in Question 7.

* 7. I agree that Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) can contact me via email regarding the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project as well as the wider conservation work of the Trust. DWT will let you know about the impact of your support, as well as other ways you could get involved in our work, including attending an event, supporting a campaign or fundraising appeal, becoming a member or volunteering with us.
