Welcome to the Parents - Practitioners' Partnership Survey!

Hello and thank you for taking part in this study!

The study is being conducted by the University of Reading and is funded by The Froebel Trust (Nov. 2016 - January 2018).

The aim of the study is twofold, as it seeks:

·         to identify parents/carers and early years’ professionals’ views on parental involvement, and also

·         to evaluate the effectiveness of a programme, planned and delivered to a group of early years teacher/practitioners as well as parents/carers.

The study focuses on collaboration and partnership as previous research has shown that when parents/carers and setting/schools work together, children do better.

By the end of this study we hope to make recommendations regarding the necessary characteristics of a good and effective model for both parents/carers and practitioners to improve parental involvement and collaboration. Findings, resources and material will be shared with participants through a dedicated website; you will have further information on this once the whole study is completed. Data will be password protected and only accessed by the project leaders who will anonymise data before sharing with anyone else. Findings from the study will be potentially used to form journal publications and/ or conference presentations. The survey is being securely administered by Survey Monkey who are not authorised to use the data provided for any other purposes.

Before you get started with completing this questionnaire, please remember that:

·         All data will be anonymised and pseudonyms will be used in any subsequent publications or presentations so that participants’ identities are protected at all times, ensuring confidentiality and anonymity. The study has been ethically approved by the University of Reading ethics committee.

·         You are free to choose if you want to take part or not and you are free to withdraw from the study at any time.
