This survey has been developed by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an association that is passionate about the value of counselling and its potential to improve the lives of individuals and communities.  The aim of this survey is to understand the provision of talking therapies (for example counselling, CBT) for residents in care homes. We want to find out from care home managers whether talking therapies are available in UK care homes and how the mental health needs of care homes residents are being identified.

We will use the information from this survey to support a programme of research around talking therapies for older people and to understand what could be done to improve the provision of talking therapies in care homes.

You and your care home will not be personally identifiable in any report from this data; for the majority of the questions only aggregated data (describing groups of participants) will be reported.

You can exit the survey at any time by clicking on the ‘x’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can re-enter the survey at any point and edit your responses, up until the final page of the survey. After this point you will not be able to edit your responses. We can only accept one survey response per computer. The closing date for survey responses is 21 July 2017.

We estimate this survey will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
