The Fourth World Congress of Psychogeography 2019 - OPEN CALL FOR PROPOSALS |
This Year’s Theme: “Psychogeography is…”
Friday 6 to Sunday 8 September 2019
This year’s 4th World Congress of Psychogeography theme is an acknowledgement that psychogeography can no longer (if it ever could) be confined within narrow boundaries of definition. Who does psychogeography, where, for what motivation or intention, and with what medium of expression, is now wide open. How you choose to define Psychogeography is your choice - the Selection Panel will be swayed by the persuasiveness with which you present your case, using the selection criteria below.
This year’s Congress will adopt a different hub each day:
Friday – Heritage Quay, the University of Huddersfield, Huddersfield
Saturday – in and around Empire House, Dewsbury town centre
Sunday – the Pennine village of Marsden
Proposals for Friday 6 September should be prepared with the intention of being staged within or nearby Heritage Quay in central Huddersfield. They could be in the form of a lecture, audio-visual presentation, interview/conversation, panel discussion or an outdoor walk or exposition, between 11.00 and 6.00.
Proposals for Saturday 7 September should be prepared with the intention of being staged outdoors around the town centre of Dewsbury or inside Empire House (a large flexible space on the fifth storey of a modernist block), between 12.00 and 5.00.
Proposals for Sunday 8 September between 12.00 and 5.00 should be prepared with the intention of being staged indoors or outdoors in and around the village of Marsden.
