About NCATI
NCATI operates two state-of-the-art campuses in Birmingham and Doncaster, to provide training and work experience to learners aged 18 and above.  Immersive learning already forms a standard component in our course delivery because so many UK transport infrastructure projects are still at an early stage and  real-world assets are either scarce or not yet available for training purposes. To date NCATI has commissioned entirely bespoke immersive learning solutions with considerable success.
 
Reason for Request
We  want to build on our success by inviting potential new suppliers located anywhere in the world to provide us with information about their Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) immersive learning software applications. We’re interested in looking at the full range of potential applications for existing immersive learning products, including (but not limited to) functional skills, digital  transformation, technical skills, vocational skills, communications, project management, health and safety, soft skills, leadership and management.

Scope of RFI for COTS Products

Please respond to this RFI if your organisation is actively marketing one or more COTS software applications that offer interactive immersive experiences viewable by both HMD (Head-Mounted Display or headsets) and conventional display screen, providing these:
  1. Are currently available for immediate sale or licensing to an organisation located in the United Kingdom.
  2. Are offered with content and  supporting documentation in UK, International or US English.
  3. Are offered in the UK with warranty and some form of support service.
Exclusions from Scope of RFI

Please respond to this RFI if you offer one or more products matching the description above. At this point we are not seeking information from vendors about the following COTS product categories.
  • Immersive learning hardware, peripherals or simulators.
  • Software applications primarily for designing or developing new immersive learning experiences.
  • Software applications  solely compatible with phone handset based HMD's (e.g Google cardboard)
