Welcome to the Survey for the review of the Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ’s) & Modern Apprenticeships (MA’s) in Hairdressing & Barbering for the following qualifications;

SVQ in Barbering SCQF 5
SVQ in Barbering SCQF 6
SkillsActive/Habia Skills Active/Habia the Sector Skills Council for Hair, Beauty, Aesthetics and Well-being who have been commissioned to review the SVQ in Hairdressing and Barbering.

Purpose of the survey:
Following on from the Hairdressing & Barbering National Occupational Standards (NOS) review in March 2021 we are now reviewing the SVQ & MA in Hairdressing & Barbering to update in line with industry.
How long will the survey take to complete? Approximately 20-30 minutes
How long will the survey be open? This questionnaire is available from Monday 1st November 2021 until Monday 29th November 2021. Feedback from this Scotland consultation will then inform a second draft of the SVQ's and MA’s in order for it to be submitted for approval.

When reviewing the draft structures please consider the content of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) – links to the NOS can be found on the structures
When reviewing the SVQ structures, please consider if the structure is current and supports employability within the sector. Please consider the following:
a) On completion of the SVQ would the candidate have enough skills and knowledge to work in industry?
b) Is the structure and NOS current and meeting the needs of the candidate and the industry?
c) are there any missing detail or amendments required?
