The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has published a consultation paper which includes the proposal that, for crown court criminal cases, the cap on the number of pages of prosecution evidence (PPE) included in the Litigator Graduated Fee Scheme (LGFS) will be reduced from 10,000 to 6,000. Any PPE above 6,000 would need to be claimed under special preparation.

In order to assist the Society in understanding the impact of this proposal on your business, we would be very grateful if you could answer the following six questions. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes, although you will probably need to have your last year's claims data for crown court cases to hand.

All replies will be treated in strict confidence, and only aggregated results will be released (no individual firm or person can be identified).

If you have any queries concerning the survey please contact either Alice Mutasa in the Law Society Justice Team (Alice.Mutasa@lawsociety.org.uk) or Keith Blakemore in the Law Society Research Unit (Keith.Blakemore@lawsociety.org.uk).
