Question Title

The NHS wants to transform its services for children and young people (aged from birth to 25) and we need your help to tell us what already works well at the moment, and what we need to improve.

Your views will directly influence decisions we make to improve services. They will help us develop a children’s plan and strategy which will be part of our five year forward plan.

This survey will take around 10 minutes to fill in but will be very helpful to us.

In Kent and Medway, we want children and young people to get the best start in life and experience the best health and care, regardless of where they live.

Our aim is to improve services to help children and young people have better physical health, mental health and wellbeing.

We’re not starting from scratch to make these improvements. The various NHS organisations and councils in Kent and Medway gather feedback regularly to continuously improve services. With support from Healthwatch, we’ve also recently been speaking with young people, parents and carers.

They’ve told us the following things are important for us to focus on:
  • improving mental health services for children and young people and reducing waiting times
  • listening to the views and experiences of children and young people and involving them in decisions about them
  • reducing gaps and unnecessary differences in how services are run and making them more joined up
  • introducing some clinics specifically for young people where they can attend without their parents for advice and information.
We also know that some services for children and young people with special education needs or disabilities in Kent and Medway have not been good enough. We are working hard right now to put this right.

Tell us what you think about services for children and young people by filling in this survey. Your views are important. Thank you for finding the time to take part in our survey.
