Survey of Educational Psychologists’ role in the SEN process in Mainstream Schools
Introduction
The Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People (NICCY) is conducting a rights based review of SEN in mainstream schools in response to concerns raised by stakeholders that there are issues with how the process works in practice.
To gather evidence of how the process works NICCY is conducting a survey, focus groups and interviews with a range of stakeholders such as parents, school principals and others. It is vital that we hear from Educational Psychologists on their experience of the SEN system and a survey has been developed to gain your views.
Your participation in the survey would be appreciated.
This survey comprises a series of questions which explore your experience within the SEN process. We would ask you to complete the survey as soon as possible - the deadline for responses is noon on Friday 30th June 2019. We estimate that the survey will take around 15 minutes to complete. All data will be anonymised and will remain confidential to this project. No pupils, parents/carers, teachers, principals, educational or health professionals (or any other individual) or schools will be named in the final report or any other subsequent publications. Data will be held securely on a password protected network and any paperwork stored in a locked filing cabinet in NICCY, accessible only to the research team.
