948NE  Challenge of delivering a secure, low impact and sustainable fishing sector. There are some fisheries that are currently assumed to be sustainable that may prove not to be.

885NE  Ways to diversify fishing opportunities, in areas experiencing decline, towards industries requiring similar skills (such as aquaculture) should be identified.

880NE  Increasing pressure from development of competing activities is leading to displacement of fishing activity resulting in a loss of employment and skill within the industry.

879NE  Scallop fisheries are nomadic compared to most other fishing activity and is not likely to fit a core grounds approach.

1018NE  Potting and trawling sites could be smothered by deposited material that is dredged from the Blyth Wind Offshore Demonstration Project.
