The Youth Activist Academy is a chance for young people to develop their skills in LGBTIQ+ sports activism. Participants of the Academy will attend a residential in June where they will learn about different challenges facing the LGBTIQ+ community, sports activism and much more!
a weekend workshop and fun residential will take place on June 28th-30t. Then the participants will then split into 8 groups and work alongside a peer mentor to implement community projects of their own that will give real life experience, while at the same time helping to improve sport for LGBTIQ+ people.
The participants of the Academy will graduate in October 2019 with a LEAP Sports Scotland Sport Activism Certificate as well as a Kelvin College Community Achievement Award.
