The National Children’s Bureau (NCB) and Youth Access charities are working to help improve mental health services for children and young people in Northern Ireland.

We’re doing this because good mental services are an important part of children’s rights.  These rights include:

·       Available services: Having enough mental health services for the children and young people who need them

·       Accessible services: Making sure you can access a service no matter who you are, where you live, whether you have a disability or not and whether you’re rich or poor.

·       Acceptable services: Feeling like the service you receive respects you, your needs, views, culture and language and any information you share with them

·       Quality services: Knowing that you’ll get the best treatment from skilled workers who work with you in a way that’s appropriate for your age

·       Participative services: Being asked, listened to and involved in decisions about the service and the care you receive.

The information you share with us in this survey will be used to help us develop a Charter – or list of promises – for mental health services in Northern Ireland so they can work to fulfil your rights.

The survey is completely anonymous. That means:

-       you don’t have to share any personal details to complete this survey
-       we won’t share your information with anyone outside the project team
-       we won’t name you in any reports or work we produce

It’s important that you look after yourself when answering the questions.  It’s best not to share too much sensitive information because we’re not mental health specialists so we can’t help you directly.

The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.

You’ll see links at the end for contacting us if you would like to take part in other activities relating to this project or if you need help with your own mental health.

You’ll see a link at the end of the survey where you can enter a prize draw to win one of two £50 shopping vouchers as a thank you!

Thanks for helping us in our work
