The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) have commissioned AELP to manage and deliver a small bursary fund targeting small independent training providers (ITPs) who may face barriers accessing CPD support. The fund is designed to improve access by offering: discounts on course fees; a reduction on the cost of travel and, in some circumstances, paying for overnight accommodation.

The bursary fund is available to ITPs that are on the Register of Training Organisations (ROTO) and have 250 or less learners in training. ITPs that meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a discount (up to a maximum of £250.00 per person) on any course offered by ETF between June 2017 and the end of March 2018. Support for travel and accommodation may also be provided - this will be decided on a case by case basis at the point of application.

The bursary is 'first come, first served' and no more than two people from a single organisation will be able to apply for the support within each financial year.

To apply to access this bursary fund, please complete the following application form no later than Friday, 15 December, 2017.

10. Terms and conditions

All providers with 250 learners or less in training who appear on ROTO are eligible to be considered for the bursary, which is a discount of up to a maximum of £250.00 off ETF courses held between June 2017 and October 2017.

Bursaries will be awarded on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Applicants must complete all sections of the on-line application form, including providing details of approximate rail travel and overnight accommodation costs, if applicable.

Incomplete application forms may not be considered.

AELP will email all applicants to advise if their application has/has not been successful.

Successful applicants will be notified by AELP how much bursary funding will be awarded to them.

Nothing should be booked until AELP has emailed applicants to confirm their application for bursary funding has been approved. Bookings without AELP approval may result in the provider organisation incurring course, travel and accommodation costs.

Receipts must be submitted for all course, travel and accommodation costs: failure to do so may affect the amount of funding awarded and result in the provider organisation incurring additional costs.
