100 objects for 100 years of forestry |
What timber product would you put into a museum of 100 years of UK forestry?
2019 is the 100th anniversary of the first UK Forestry Act. This is an opportunity to celebrate the role UK forests and timber play in our lives, and to recognise the importance of the past century in creating the basis for a forest culture in the century to come.
To mark the occasion, Confor would like to find 100 objects made from British trees, one for every year between 1919 and 2019. These objects will be used as the basis for a year-long celebration of the forestry industry, in print, in the media and at events.
Kitchens, skyscrapers, picture-frames, bioplastics, pencils, pit-props, cardboard, bobbins or pallets - the objects will tell a story of how functional, beautiful, versatile, environmentally-friendly and essential timber is; and how ordinary and extraordinary household objects are rooted in our British landscape.
We invite you to submit one or more objects to be considered for inclusion in our virtual 'museum of timber'.
Please fill in as many of the fields as possible, although you can leave them blank if they are not relevant or you do not know.
