Are skills shortages limiting your growth?
UKFT is urgently seeking employers’ input into the role migrant workers play in filling skilled jobs in the industry.
The government is seeking views on the Shortage Occupation List (SOL), which is a list of skilled worker jobs that the UK government deem to be in short supply. For jobs on the SOL, the immigration rules for work visas are simpler, making it easier for overseas workers with the relevant skills to come to the UK.
Having jobs on the SOL could be a significant opportunity for the sector while we build a domestic skilled pipeline of talent.
UKFT are preparing a submission on behalf of industry and would like to invite UK fashion and textile businesses to tell us about their need for migrant workers.
